Context & Objectives
An EU-funded project
BIOCOR is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN), funded by the EU Seventh Framework "People" Programme.
ITN projects offer early-stage researchers the opportunity to improve their research skills, join established research teams and enhance their career prospects.
Objectives
The main objectives of the BIOCOR ITN project are:
• to develop a new profile of researcher, capable of addressing and managing all aspects of scientific and/or industrial problems related to MIC,
• to provide the European industries with alternative multidisciplinary expertise in this area.
Scope of the project
The project was officially launched on 1st September 2009, and will run for 4 years.
Recruited researchers
11 Early-stage researchers (ESRs) and 5 Experienced researchers (ERs) are currently being recruited to take part in the research and training of the BIOCOR network.
2 Visiting senior scientists of international stature will also be involved in the project, supporting the network for period of 4 months each.
